Privacy Policy
Drive IQ Canada mobile app · Last updated: October 19, 2026
This policy explains how the Drive IQ Canada mobile app (the "App"), operated by Oddly Sunny LLC (New Jersey, USA), handles your information. The App is built to collect as little personal data as possible.
No account
The App does not require an account or sign-in. We do not ask for your name, email, or contact information to use it. If you use Sunny (see below), the App connects to it with a random identifier for your copy of the App, never your name or email.
Data stored on your device
Your study progress, test history, streaks, and Readiness Score are stored locally on your device only. We do not upload or store this data on our servers, and it is removed if you delete the App. The one exception is Sunny: when you use it, the App sends it the study details it needs, and your conversations are kept on our servers.
Subscriptions
If you buy Drive IQ Canada Pro, the purchase is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed on our behalf by RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (active or not) so the App can unlock Pro features. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple and Google process the payment under their own privacy policies.
Crash and diagnostic data
We use Firebase Crashlytics to record crash reports (device model, OS version, and the technical state at the time of a crash) so we can fix problems. These reports are not tied to your identity.
Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage (for example, which screens are used). The App does not use the advertising identifier and does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt because it does not track you across other apps or websites.
Sunny, the AI study coach
Where Sunny, our AI study coach, is available in the App, using it is optional. When you use it, the App sends Sunny your messages (typed, or turned into text by your device if you speak), the screen or practice question you asked from, your study settings (province or territory, licence class, test date), a short summary of your progress, your plan, and a random identifier. Sunny never receives your email address or payment details.
Sunny's replies are written by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, which processes your messages as our service provider in the United States. Your Sunny data therefore leaves Canada and may be accessible to authorities under US law; we tell you this under PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not train its models on your messages and keeps them only for a limited time. We never use Sunny conversations to train AI models or for advertising.
Your conversations are kept on our servers (Google Cloud) so you can return to them, and are deleted automatically 12 months after their last message, or right away when you delete one in Sunny. The quality log we review to fix mistakes carries no name or email address and is deleted after 90 days. The full list of what Sunny keeps and for how long is in the Sunny section of our website privacy policy. To have all of your Sunny data deleted, write to [email protected].
Please do not enter personal information in Sunny, such as your full name, address, phone number, or driver's licence number. It does not need them and never asks for them.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Children
The App is intended for people preparing for a driver knowledge test and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Sunny collects nothing extra from teens, never asks for contact details, and shows no ads; every reply can be reported, and a person reviews every report.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
