Who we are

Drive IQ Canada ("we," "us," or "our") is a service operated by Oddly Sunny LLC, a single-member limited liability company formed in New Jersey, USA. We provide free, bilingual study tools for Canadian provincial driver knowledge tests at driveiqcanada.com.

What data we collect

driveiqcanada.com is built to collect as little personal data as possible. The categories below describe everything we collect:

  • Anonymous analytics: Page views, referrer, approximate location (country / region), device type, browser, and language preference. Collected via Google Analytics 4 only when you consent (see Cookies, below).
  • Local progress data: Your practice answers, scores, and IQ Readiness Score™ are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device. We can't see it, and it's gone if you clear your browser storage.
  • Contact form submissions: If you email [email protected], we receive your email address and message. Responses are sent from our Canadian-routed mailbox; we don't store contact-form messages in any third-party CRM.

How we use the data

  • To understand which provinces, vehicle classes, and topics are most useful to visitors, so we can prioritize content updates.
  • To diagnose technical errors (e.g., which browser/device combinations break a question page).
  • To respond to questions, corrections, and feedback you send us by email.
  • To meet our legal obligations under Canadian privacy law.

How we share data

We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. The only third parties that touch any data on this site are:

  • Google Analytics 4: Anonymized analytics events. Only loaded after you consent in opt-in regions (Quebec, EU/EEA, UK).
  • Cloud hosting & CDN: Our pages are served via Firebase Hosting (Google) and Cloudflare. These providers see standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request URL) for security and performance, retained briefly per their own policies.
  • Email delivery: Replies to your contact-form messages are sent through standard email infrastructure. We don't subscribe you to mailing lists.

We don't share data with Canadian or US licensing authorities. Drive IQ Canada is independent of every provincial Ministry of Transportation, ICBC, SAAQ, SGI, MPI, and other provincial bodies.

Cookies

driveiqcanada.com uses two categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary: A language-preference cookie (so the site stays in English or French as you chose) and a consent-record cookie (so we don't show you the consent banner again on every visit). These cannot be turned off because the site can't function without them.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 cookies (_ga, _gid) — only set after you consent. We don't use advertising, marketing, or social-tracking cookies of any kind.

You can change your cookie choices at any time on the Cookie Settings page, or by clearing the drive_iq_ca_consent cookie in your browser.

How long we keep data

Anonymized analytics are retained by Google Analytics for 14 months by default, then deleted. Server logs are retained by Firebase/Cloudflare per their own short-retention policies (typically 30–90 days). Contact-form emails are kept in our mailbox until your inquiry is resolved, plus a reasonable archival period.

Your rights under PIPEDA

Canadian residents have the following rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA):

  • Access: Request a copy of any personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or out-of-date personal information.
  • Withdraw consent: Withdraw your consent to analytics processing at any time via the Cookie Settings page.
  • Complain: If you believe we've mishandled your data, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

Because we collect so little personal data, most access/correction requests will simply confirm that we have nothing about you on record. To make a request, email [email protected].

Quebec residents — Law 25

Residents of Quebec have additional rights under An Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), including the right to data portability and the right to be informed about automated decision-making. We don't engage in automated decision-making about you on driveiqcanada.com.

Person in charge of personal information protection: the operator's principal at Oddly Sunny LLC. To exercise Law 25 rights, email [email protected] with the subject line "Law 25 request".

Cross-border data transfers

Oddly Sunny LLC is based in the United States. Any data we receive (e.g., contact-form messages) may be processed in the US. Anonymized analytics are processed by Google in jurisdictions per Google's own data-residency rules. By using driveiqcanada.com, you consent to these transfers.

Security

Pages are served over HTTPS. We use modern browser security headers (Content-Security-Policy, Strict-Transport-Security). We don't store passwords, payment info, or sensitive identifiers — there is no Drive IQ Canada account system on the website at this time.

Children

Drive IQ Canada is intended for users 14 and older preparing for a learner's permit (most provinces let teens start written-test prep at 14 with parental consent, full eligibility at 16). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If you believe we have, email [email protected] and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our practices evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least 14 days.
