British Columbia sets two road tests
That is not the Canadian norm: eleven jurisdictions set one. The two tests do not assess the same thing, and passing the first does not prepare you for the second.

Test 1 of 2
Class 7 road test
The first of BC's two road tests. Passing it moves you from your L to your N.
Test 2 of 2
Class 5 road test
BC's second road test, and the one that ends graduated licensing.
After the last test
Passing the Class 5 road test ends graduated licensing. From 19 October 2026 that step is replaced by a Driving Record Assessment for drivers with a clean record, followed by a 12-month restriction period.
